Yet in South Africa, despite strong scientific innovation, the lack of funding, infrastructure, and coordinated support has made it difficult to move from research to startup success.

Biotech is complex and capital-intensive, requiring more than just funding. It needs a connected, supportive ecosystem. This is especially true in South Africa, where early-stage bioentrepreneurs face steep barriers to entry.

The OneBio Innovation Centre is a non-profit (PBO) created to help unlock the potential of the South African bioeconomy. We provide the infrastructure and ecosystem that early-stage biotech startups need to grow.

By offering shared, fully equipped lab and office space, we lower the upfront costs of launching a biotech venture. Our mission is to make it faster, more accessible, and more affordable to build successful biotech startups in South Africa by giving founders the tools, support, and community they need.
